I wrote 'There's rice at home' as a rather odd present for my mum for her birthday. I'm still not sure how it ended up the way that it did, other than the title, which every African teenager coming home from school will have heard at some point in their lifetime! ;)
Also, if you were wondering, she found it weird, and in hindsight, it does sound a bit more like a passion piece than a gift...
